WeRide CEO Commits to 3-Year Lock-Up Ahead of Hong Kong IPO 🚗

Autonomous driving company WeRide Inc. (WRD) announced that CEO Tony Han has voluntarily agreed to a three-year lock-up on his shares, effective October 28, 2025, as the firm moves forward with its Hong Kong IPO.

Under the agreement, Han will not sell, transfer, or pledge any shares he owns or controls, underscoring his confidence in WeRide’s long-term vision. “This reflects my confidence in the company’s fundamentals and growth potential,” he said.

WeRide launched its Hong Kong IPO on October 28, offering 88.25 million shares under the code 0800.HK. The company plans to list on November 6, 2025, creating a dual primary listing alongside its NASDAQ shares.

Strategic investors, including Uber, Grab, and Bosch, have expressed interest in joining as anchor investors, according to WeRide.

For the second quarter of 2025, WeRide reported RMB 127.2 million ($17.8 million) in revenue, up 60.8% year-on-year. Its robotaxi business surged 836.7% to RMB 45.9 million ($6.4 million), making up 36.1% of total revenue.WeRide operates over 1,500 autonomous vehicles across 30 cities in 11 countries, with permits in China, UAE, Singapore, France, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, and the U.S.
