Stellantis has declared its unwavering commitment to Maserati, denying any intentions to sell or merge the luxury vehicle brand with other Italian luxury groups. The automaker emphasized Maserati’s future as a unique luxury brand among its 14 brands, despite recent financial struggles.
Carlos Tavares, CEO of the Netherlands-based company, recently cautioned that loss-making brands might face shutdown if they fail to become profitable. This warning followed Stellantis’s disappointing first-half financial results.
Maserati reported an adjusted operating loss of €82 million for the first half of the year. Although some analysts speculated that Maserati might be sold, Stellantis has confirmed its dedication to the brand and its entire portfolio. Other brands like Lancia and DS, which contribute minimally to overall sales, might be at risk of discontinuation.
