Enterprise cloud company Salesforce (CRM.N) announced on Tuesday that it has agreed to acquire Tenyx, a startup specializing in artificial intelligence-powered voice agents. The acquisition, which is expected to close in the third quarter, aims to enhance Salesforce’s AI-driven solutions. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2022 and based in California, Tenyx serves clients across various industries, including e-commerce, healthcare, hospitality, and travel. Following the acquisition, Tenyx’s co-founders, CEO Itamar Arel and CTO Adam Earle, along with their team, will join Salesforce.
This acquisition marks a strategic shift for Salesforce, which had previously moved away from acquiring companies under pressure from activist investors. The company now seeks to re-accelerate its revenue growth through acquisitions, mirroring similar moves by tech giants like Microsoft and Amazon. Salesforce recently exceeded Wall Street expectations for second-quarter revenue and profit, driven by increased spending on its enterprise cloud products.
