Oracle to Invest $6.5 Billion in Malaysia for Cloud and AI Services 💻

Oracle Corp. plans to invest $6.5 billion in building a cloud services center in Malaysia, marking another significant tech investment in Southeast Asia’s growing AI infrastructure. This cloud region will offer corporate clients access to data centers and Nvidia chips to accelerate generative AI development, Oracle said in a statement.

Southeast Asia is becoming a hotspot for cloud services, thanks to government support and expanding markets. Oracle joins tech giants like Google, which plans to invest $1 billion in data centers in Thailand and Malaysia, and Amazon, with a $9 billion plan for Singapore.

The US company aims to grow its cloud infrastructure to capture a share of the AI market, which Bain & Co. estimates could reach $990 billion by 2027. Oracle has not yet provided details on the timeline for its Malaysian project.
