Jensen Huang, co-founder and CEO of Nvidia, has risen significantly in the ranks of the world’s wealthiest individuals, becoming the 13th richest person with a net worth of $106.1 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Huang’s fortune has surged by over $62 billion this year due to the insatiable demand for Nvidia chips, which are essential for artificial intelligence tasks.
At 61, Huang is leading a new wave of tech billionaires as AI-driven advancements, dubbed “Jensanity” by analysts, transform Silicon Valley. This wave has also benefited Lisa Su, CEO of Advanced Micro Devices Inc., and Charles Liang of Super Micro Computer Inc. Last month, Huang’s fortune exceeded that of each individual member of the Waltons, America’s wealthiest family, following another stellar quarter for Nvidia.
Huang’s wealth comes from his 3.5% stake in Nvidia, which he co-founded in 1993. Nvidia recently became the first chip company to reach a $3 trillion market capitalization, surpassing Apple Inc.
Nvidia now commands an ecosystem of hardware and software solutions that rivals from AMD to Intel Corp. are striving to replicate, thanks to its dominant share of the market for high-end accelerators used to train AI.
