Nvidia (NVDA.O) is developing a version of its new flagship AI chips for the China market that complies with current U.S. export controls, according to three sources familiar with the matter. The company unveiled its “Blackwell” chip series in March, with the B200 chip being 30 times faster than its predecessor for tasks like chatbot responses.
Nvidia plans to collaborate with Inspur, a major distributor partner in China, on the launch and distribution of the chip, tentatively named “B20,” according to two sources. The sources requested anonymity as Nvidia has not yet made a public announcement. A spokesperson for Nvidia declined to comment, and Inspur did not respond to requests for comment.
