U.S.-based electronic components maker Jabil is investing 20 billion rupees ($238.2 million) to establish a new manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu, India. The plant will be located near Trichy, creating approximately 5,000 jobs. The agreement was signed in Chicago, and this expansion will complement Jabil’s existing facility in Pune. Matt Crowley, Jabil’s Executive Vice President, emphasized that India is emerging as a key global manufacturing hub, and the company’s expansion will help meet future customer needs. Additionally, Tamil Nadu signed agreements with Rockwell Automation, worth 6.66 billion rupees, and Autodesk, further boosting the state’s industrial growth. This development is expected to contribute significantly to job creation and economic growth in the region.
