Saudi Arabia’s Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Company, EVIQ, has marked a historic moment with the inauguration of its initial electric vehicle fast-charging station at ROSHN Front in Riyadh. Boasting two state-of-the-art fast chargers with an output power exceeding 100 kW each, the facility is set to offer complimentary high-power charging to all electric vehicle (EV) users in Riyadh. This initiative aligns seamlessly with the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to bolster the adoption of electric vehicles and heralding a new era of accessibility and convenience for the public.
EVIQ CEO Mohammad Bakr Gazzaz expressed the significance of this milestone, emphasizing that the ROSHN Front site is the first step in EVIQ’s plan to deploy 5,000 fast chargers across 1,000 strategic locations in the Kingdom by 2030. The cutting-edge technology presented in these fast chargers is poised to revolutionize public EV charging, addressing a critical challenge faced by many EV owners—the scarcity of high-power chargers in the Saudi market. Partnering with ROSHN Group, EVIQ strategically positions its inaugural charging facility at the iconic ROSHN Front, a destination with over 800,000 monthly visitors, enhancing the accessibility and appeal of electric vehicles to a broader audience.
