Canada Stocks Close Higher, Led by Gains in REITs, Real Estate, and IT Sectors 📈

Canadian stocks were higher at the close on Wednesday, driven by gains in the REITs, Real Estate, and IT sectors. The S&P/TSX Composite Index added 0.37%, reaching a new all-time high.

Top Performers:

  • Calibre Mining Corp (TSX:CXB): Rose 7.66%, or 0.17 points, to close at 2.39, marking a three-year high.
  • Northwest Healthcare Properties REIT (TSX:NWH_u): Gained 6.49%, or 0.31 points, ending at 5.09.
  • Equinox Gold Corp (TSX:EQX): Increased by 4.92%, or 0.38 points, to finish at 8.11.

Worst Performers:

  • Canada Goose Holdings Inc (TSX:GOOS): Fell 3.21%, or 0.52 points, closing at 15.69.
  • Boralex Inc (TSX:BLX): Dropped 1.89%, or 0.63 points, to end at 32.66.
  • Northland Power Inc (TSX:NPI): Declined 1.75%, or 0.39 points, closing at 21.91.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 614 to 317, with 105 ending unchanged.

Commodities & Currency:

  • Gold Futures for December delivery were down 0.05% to $2,549.40 per troy ounce.
  • Crude oil for October delivery fell 1.67% to $71.95 per barrel, while Brent oil for October fell 1.41% to $76.11 per barrel.
  • CAD/USD was unchanged at 0.74, while CAD/EUR remained flat at 0.66.
